Finance AI Lead (Contract)

Company / Role Overview

This role sits within a global finance transformation programme at a leading international financial services organisation. The position is responsible for shaping, delivering, and scaling advanced analytics and AI capabilities across Finance, supporting improved forecasting, planning, decision-making, and operational efficiency. Working closely with senior finance stakeholders and technology partners, the role combines hands-on solution delivery with global capability building, operating in a highly regulated, multi-market environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of production-grade analytics and AI solutions across Finance, including machine learning, generative AI, and advanced forecasting use cases.
• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of analytics and AI initiatives, from problem definition and solution design through to deployment, monitoring, and post-implementation support.
• Partner directly with senior Finance stakeholders to translate business questions into actionable, value-driven analytics and AI solutions.
• Establish scalable delivery patterns, reusable components, and best practices to accelerate time-to-value across markets and teams.
• Collaborate with enterprise technology, data, and risk functions to ensure solutions meet governance, security, and compliance standards.
• Build and mature a global analytics and AI capability using a hub-and-spoke delivery model, uplifting capability across regional teams.
• Track and communicate business impact, including efficiency gains, financial outcomes, and adoption metrics, to senior leadership.

Job Requirements

Must-have:

• Significant experience (typically 10+ years) delivering analytics, data, or AI solutions within financial services or similarly regulated industries.
• Proven track record of leading hands-on delivery of AI or advanced analytics solutions into production environments.
• Strong understanding of finance data and processes, such as forecasting, planning, reporting, or performance management.
• Practical experience with machine learning and/or generative AI solutions, including solution design and deployment considerations.
• Ability to operate at senior stakeholder level, translating complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
• Experience working across multiple markets or regions, coordinating delivery across distributed teams.

Nice-to-have:

• Background in top-tier consulting or large-scale transformation programmes.
• Experience building or scaling analytics and AI operating models at an enterprise or regional level.
• Familiarity with governance, risk, and control considerations for analytics and AI in regulated environments.
