The opportunity

We are partnered with a global life insurer to build out its regional AI Centre of Excellence, supporting AI-led transformation across its Asian businesses. The Centre brings data scientists together with engineers, product specialists and business teams to develop solutions with measurable operational and customer value.

As a Data Scientist, you will develop and evaluate machine learning and generative AI solutions within a delivery squad. You will work from initial data exploration through modelling, prototyping and pilot evaluation, building evidence that helps teams decide how promising ideas should progress.

What you will do

• Explore business-relevant data and establish analytical and operational baselines.
• Develop statistical models and machine learning solutions.
• Build and evaluate ML and generative AI prototypes.
• Assess business value, performance, data constraints and solution limitations.
• Iterate with business users and communicate findings clearly.
• Collaborate with engineers on reproducibility, deployment and monitoring, while developing reusable analytical assets.

What you will bring

• Strong Python skills.
• Knowledge of statistical modelling and machine learning.
• Practical experience developing or evaluating ML and generative AI solutions.
• Ability to explain analytical findings and limitations clearly.
• A collaborative approach to experimentation and business problem-solving.

Preferred: Experience with insurance data or use cases, AWS SageMaker experience and Chinese language capability.
