LLM Developer / Senior Data Scientist – Retail – VND 90-130 Million

12 month extendable contract

2 headcount

LLM Developer

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop LLM-powered applications, including multi-agent systems(e.g., chatbots and agentic workflows) with prompt orchestration, tool/function calling, and reliable multi-step coordination.
  • Build retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) capabilities: data ingestion, chunking, embedding/indexing, vector search, reranking, and citation/attribution to improve answer grounding.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines that curate and govern external knowledge sources used by LLM applications (freshness, quality, access control).
  • Improve model and system performance through prompt optimization, dataset curation, lightweight adaptation (e.g., LoRA/PEFT), and selective fine-tuning where appropriate.
  • Implement and operate LLMOps practices: deployment, monitoring/observability, evaluation, incident response, and iterative optimization for quality, latency, and cost.
  • Collaborate with ML engineers and data scientists to integrate LLM systems into existing products and services (APIs, platforms, and downstream applications).
  • Track relevant advances in the LLM ecosystem and translate them into measurable improvements in our production applications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Strong proficiency in Python and experience building production-grade services (APIs, async jobs, testing, CI/CD).
  • Experience with LLM frameworks and tooling (e.g., LangChain/LangGraph, LlamaIndex) and modern LLM integration patterns.
  • Proven experience developing LLM applications and improving them via systematic experimentation (prompting, RAG tuning, dataset iteration, and/or fine-tuning with PEFT).
  • Strong evaluation mindset: define success metrics and run offline/online evaluations (e.g., groundedness/faithfulness, relevance, retrieval metrics, win-rate, human review, A/B tests).
  • Experience deploying models/LLM applications in production environments (containers, cloud services, scalable architectures, monitoring).
  • Familiarity with responsible AI and security practices (privacy, access control, prompt injection defenses, guardrails/policy-aligned behavior).

Senior Data Scientist

Key Responsibilities

Machine learning & analytics solution delivery

  • Design, build, and deploy data/analytics models that support Retails decisions (e.g., performance diagnosis, segmentation, forecasting, uplift/impact measurement, ranking/recommendation where relevant).
  • Drive end-to-end delivery: problem framing → data requirements → modeling → validation → rollout → monitoring → iteration, with clear definitions of success metrics and adoption.
  • Continuously monitor and improve model performance, scalability, and reliability in production environments (data quality, drift, retraining/refresh cadence).

Generative AI literacy & application

  • Demonstrate solid understanding of GenAI/LLM fundamentals and failure modes (prompting, context limits, hallucination risk, retrieval/RAG patterns, evaluation and guardrails).
  • Collaborate with LLM developers/MLEs to apply GenAI where it improves the Cat Man workflow (e.g., insight summarization, NL-to-SQL/agent-assisted analytics, RAG over category documents), with measurable quality and governance.

Business partnership & delivery accuracy

  • Work closely with Business stakeholders to confirm requirements, validate assumptions, interpret results correctly, and ensure delivery matches real decision workflows.
  • Communicate trade-offs clearly (speed vs accuracy, complexity vs maintainability), and proactively manage scope, risks, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Mentor junior team members and raise delivery standards (documentation, testing discipline, experiment rigor).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data science / applied machine learning, with proven delivery of end-to-end analytics/ML solutions in real-world or production environments.
  • Working knowledge of GenAI/LLM systems (RAG, evaluation, guardrails) and ability to explain how/why the system behaves.
  • Strong proficiency in Python; strong SQL and data-wrangling skills.
  • Experience with model deployment, optimization, and monitoring (CI/CD, versioning, performance tracking, incident handling).
  • Strong stakeholder management skills: able to lead ambiguous projects, align metrics, and drive delivery with minimal guidance.
