Managing Director – Singapore

Our client is a mature consumer retail business with a significant presence across Singapore. With high number of stores/point-of-sales, it is a familiar and trusted brand with a stabilised operating model and strong customer base.

The business is now entering a new growth phase , focused on modernising its value proposition, expanding its customer base, and elevating commercial performance across channels. The incoming Managing Director will take full ownership of the Singapore P&L and lead the enterprise agenda—driving strategic growth, operational execution, and organisational leadership.

This mandate is suited for a commercially driven retail executive with deep Singapore market experience, proven leadership of large teams, and a track record of delivering sustained business outcomes at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end Singapore business ( with regional remit potential) : retail operations, marketing, merchandising, HR, finance, supply chain, and digital
• Deliver profitable growth through sharper execution, new revenue streams, and enhanced customer engagement
• Drive innovation in product offering, in-store experience, and channel mix
• Represent the Singapore entity at board level and collaborate closely with the regional CEO

Key requirements

• Current or former Managing Director / CEO / GM with full P&L responsibility in a Singapore-based retail business
• Experience in mass retail, consumer, or lifestyle formats with a strong track record of driving commercial outcomes
• Demonstrated success in leading growth, digital adoption, and brand revitalisation
• Strong leadership credentials with ability to manage >100 staff and build high-performance teams
• Fluent in English and Mandarin (written and spoken) to operate effectively across internal and external stakeholders
