Sourcing Engineer

Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive Sourcing Engineer
to join a leading high-tech manufacturing company. In this role, you will lead the strategic discovery, qualification, and negotiation with new regional and international suppliers to optimize cost, lead times, and supply chain resilience for high-tech production lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Supplier Discovery & Onboarding:
- Identify, audit, and evaluate new local and global suppliers for capital equipment, production machinery, specialized spare parts, and direct raw materials.
- Conduct thorough supplier capability assessments, risk evaluations, and technical audits to ensure alignment with production specifications.
- RFQs & Commercial Negotiations:
- Manage end-to-end Request for Quotation (RFQ) and Request for Proposal (RFP) processes.
- Lead commercial and contract negotiations (pricing, payment terms, warranties, lead times, and SLA terms) to achieve cost-saving targets.
- Technical Collaboration & NPI Support:
- Partner closely with Engineering, Maintenance, R&D, and Production teams to understand technical specifications for machinery and spare parts.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects by securing sample approvals and organizing component testing with quality teams.
- Supplier Performance & Risk Management:
- Establish baseline KPI metrics to evaluate supplier performance in quality, delivery timeliness, and cost competitiveness.
- Develop alternative sourcing options (dual-sourcing strategies) to mitigate supply chain disruptions for critical machinery parts and materials.
Qualifications & Key Requirements
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Industry Background:
Experience within Semiconductor, Electronics, or EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services)
industries.
- Commodity Expertise:
Demonstrated experience in sourcing raw materials, capital machinery/equipment, and mechanical/electrical spare parts.
- Languages:
Good command of Thai and English (written and spoken)
- Soft Skills:
Strong negotiation tactics, strategic thinking, problem-solving mindset, and the ability to build long-term vendor partnerships.
