Job description

Title Painting Engineer (Manufacturing)

The Client

A well-known international Company

The Role

  • Working concurrently with the paint line supplier for full integration of new automated system
  • Maximizing efficiencies while ensuring quality
  • Optimizing paint change over process
  • Establish systems for paint line (cleaning requirements, instructions, error proofing)
  • Documentation development (Customer requirements, ANPQP process, Control plan)
  • Lead problem solving activities in relation to the painting process and application
  • Ability to adjust/program/troubleshoot system and robots
  • Work with production department on production control and requirements and MRP planning
  • Lead for customer issues regarding paint application
  • Lead for developing the PM schedule
  • Develop paint system continuous improvement activities
  • Evaluate accuracy of production and testing equipment
  • Study and rearrange org charts, material flow, and operations sequence
  • Evaluate effects of product design changes

The People

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering field; Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering degree preferred; or 5 to 7+ years-experience in automotive manufacturing required
  • 2 to 4 years' experience in automotive paint lines and automotive OEMs required
  • Product launch experience
  • Excellent verbal/written communication
  • Maintain and follow all training requirements
  • Understand and follow all quality, safety, and environmental processes and procedures
  • Follow all recycling programs
  • Able to work different hours and shifts as needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Use required safety equipment
