Job Description

This is a new role within the APAC IT Regional team, created to -

  • Act as a Regional Practice Lead for all BA & Test resources dispersed throughout the APAC region. The role will ensure process standardisation and best practice is applied
  • Work in-conjunction with the project managers & leadership team to help make the appropriate project delivery decisions, based on the project circumstances (ie. Whether to run projects in an Agile manner and if so exactly what deliverables to apply)
  • Provide additional program leadership capability within the Delivery function to support the growing demand for change

Overall Key Position Goals

Execution Goals (Practice Lead)

  • Act as the coordination point for all BA & Test activities in the region (Development will be owned by the Development Manager)
  • Oversee and actively guide these deliverables across the APAC region
  • Ensure key checkpoints and peer reviews are implemented to ensure consistent high quality of deliverables
  • Provide career planning and development advice for all resources falling within the BA & Test 'families'

Execution Goals (Program Lead)

  • Actively engage with various stakeholders (business & IT) to effectively deliver prioritized project outcomes
  • Proactively provide guidance on all delivery related activities
  • Deliver Projects/Programs per plan, scope and budget
  • Ensure High quality deliverables form a part of delivery, from documentation & plans through to system capability & performance
  • Actively engage & consult internal & external teams to ensure good outcomes for projects in adherence with timelines
  • Ensure solutions in APAC are implemented based on a set of standard builds that align where possible with COG. Deviations from the standard build must be justified by the business. These exceptions are to be approved by regional solution delivery/architecture forums

Leadership Goals (Practice Lead)

  • Develop talent within your teams, with a target of uplifting technical working knowledge of the appropriate systems
  • Establishing and maintaining frequent and effective team meetings and comm's plans to keep all team members current & informed

Leadership Goals (Program Lead)

  • Establish a record for good stakeholder engagement, proactive comm's and excellence in delivery and the support for other teams
  • Set stretch quality targets
  • Ensure best practice is applied across the strategic programs through governance, methodology or the application of technology

Mandatory Experience

  • Experienced leading IT Delivery teams in an across a region for an International organisation
  • Highly experienced IT professional, having worked across many areas of the SDLC (analysis, project management, dev, test) (min 15 years)
  • Experienced with the application of Agile Techniques (3+ years)
  • Remote working experience, with both IT and business teams
  • Vendor Management experience
  • Staff line management and leadership experience (min 5 years)
  • Staff development experience (min 5 years)
  • IT Best practice knowledge
  • A champion of process improvement

Desired Experience

  • Good Insurance domain knowledge and experience
  • Prince 2/ AMP Project Management qualifications
  • DevOps knowledge
